Here at Police Test Ontario (Police Prep Ontario), we know how stressful it can be to get certified with all of the necessary courses before becoming a police officer in Ontario... believe me, I was there!  But we also know that you can AND will do it. As a former police officer myself, I found it hard to see how many applicants simply don't make the cut. So, I did something about it. Steps to becoming a police officer in Ontario. We will be with you every step of the way!

  • STEP 1: Complete the OACP testing (Part A,B,C)

  • STEP 2: Complete Application Form/PBQ (Pre-Background Questionnaire)

  • STEP 3: Complete the Physical Examination --> not included in online packages

  • STEP 4: Complete the Hearing/Vision Tests --> not included in packages.

  • STEP 5: Complete the LFI/LFA (Local Focus Interviews // Local Focus Assessment) and the ECI (Essential Competency Interview)

  • STEP 6: Complete Written Psychological Testing and Psychological Interview (SIGMA testing based on police service preference)

  • STEP 7: An in-depth background investigation and home interview will occur. (Note: not all services have home interviews)

  • STEP 8: Medical Exam and Pre-Board Fitness Training

  • STEP 9: Board Review // Interview
